ISYS:email.search will search all your email messages in Outlook, Outlook
Express and Eudora. It doesn't matter where the words you want to find
are in the message - 'To', 'From' or 'Subject' fields or the message body
- ISYS:email.search can search it all at once.

ISYS:email.search supports Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express
and Eudora. There are other ISYS products, however, that can search other
email systems such as Netscape. Visit
ISYS Search Software's website for information about other ISYS products
that can search over 125 file types including emails, attachments, word
processing files, spreadsheets, PDFs, HTML and more.

ISYS scans your email files and stores information about each and every
word that it finds in a special file called an index. The index is simply
a list of the words used in all your email messages. When you search for
a word, ISYS uses the index to find which messages contain that word.
The time it takes to create the ISYS:email.search index depends on how
much information there is to index. The first time you index your email
files, you can expect the process to take between 2 minutes and 30 minutes.
After that, updating your indexes is a faster process.
ISYS stores your index in the "per user" directory under C:\Documents
& Settings\username (in Windows ME, 200 and higher) or C:\My Documents
(in Windows 95/98). You cannot change the location of your ISYS index.
ISYS:email.search will rebuild its indexes in the default location if
you attempt to move them.

- What are the benefits of using
ISYS:email.search?
- What can ISYS:email.search do
that Outlook's 'Find' function can't?
- ISYS:email.search saves time. It works many times faster
than Outlook's built-in search function, able to return results in under
a second.
- Search directly from your email program. ISYS:email.search adds a
button to Outlook or Outlook Express so you can search from within your
email application.
- You don't have to know where to look. No need to spend time sorting
your messages into different folders to make them eaiser to find. No
need to specify message fields in your search. ISYS:email.search's full
text retrieval capabilities allow you to find any text in any message
in any folder.
- Search the way you want to - using ordinary English, Boolean syntax,
web-style syntax or advanced options.
- Only search once. When you find a message, you don't have to scroll
through it to find your search terms. ISYS:email.search highlights search
terms in each message, and allows you to 'jump' from one hit in one
message to the next, without having to scroll through text.

will return results in under a second.
- More flexible and accurate searching. Search for names, phrases, words,
dates or numbers in a single query.
- Search all the fields of all your messages in all your email folders
at once
- Search using sophisticated query syntax, by using point-and-click
operators or simply by entering a question in plain English
- Hit highlighting means all your search terms are highlighted in found
messages, so they're easy to find. And with hit-to-hit navigation, you
can 'jump' from one instance of your search terms to the next, even
if they're in different messages or different folders.
- Choose to match your search terms exactly or expand your search using
different forms of words. For example, a search for "walk"
can return "walk", "walking", "walks"
and "walked", all with one query.

- Can ISYS:email.search index my Deleted Items
folder?
- Can ISYS:email.search index my Personal Folders?
ISYS:email.search will only index mail in your Deleted Items folder
if you are connected to an Exchange Server. If you are not running Outlook
in an Exchange environment, then ISYS:email.search will not index messages
in your Deleted Items folder.
ISYS:email.search will index emails contained in Personal Folders,
providing they are open in Outlook. ISYS:email.search does not have the
ability to open a PST file on your system and as such needs Outlook to
have opened the file. To open these files, select File > Open from
the menu. Click on the Personal Folder File option and navigate to your
PST file.
Note that ISYS:email.search will not index any emails kept in the root
Personal Folder. If you have items in the root Personal Folder that you
would like to include in your index, you will need to create a new folder
under the root Personal Folder and move emails to that location.
